Man is remanded after private court appearance

A man has been remanded in custody after he appeared in private at Lerwick Sheriff Court on a number of charges.

Ross MacDougall, 27, of Scalloway appeared on a petition alleging that he acted in an abusive manner, had a knife in a public place, struggled with police and possessed controlled drugs.

He made no plea or declaration and was committed for further examination.

MacDougall is expected to appear in court again next week.
