The week’s indoor cricket matches saw wins for The Mighty Six, Bonxies and the Stingrays. The change of players in each team for the second half of the indoor season was meant to make for very close games but Lerwick have struggled to get their team to fire and the Bonxies have managed to win all their games to date with comparative ease.

Bonxies stretched their lead in the indoor cricket league to eight points with a narrow win over Warriors while Stingrays beat Mighty Six.

This week saw the indoor cricket knockout being played to its conclusion. The first semi-final saw the Renegades take on the losing finalist of last year, Southend.The second semi-final saw Lerwick B take on last year’s winners Bressay Light.

This past Sunday and Monday saw glorious sunshine and 22 men clad in white playing four games of cricket at north Clickimin.

Some Scottish members of parlia­ment think that there is too much media coverage of cricket at the moment.

The Bressay Light made it a league and cup double when they won the indoor cricket knockout competition at the weekend, defeating Lerwick B in the semi-final and Big Shots in the final.
