Bonxies dominate in indoor cricket league

The week’s indoor cricket matches saw wins for The Mighty Six, Bonxies and the Stingrays. The change of players in each team for the second half of the indoor season was meant to make for very close games but Lerwick have struggled to get their team to fire and the Bonxies have managed to win all their games to date with comparative ease.

Howzat! Bressay Light do the double

The Bressay Light made it a league and cup double when they won the indoor cricket knockout competition at the weekend, defeating Lerwick B in the semi-final and Big Shots in the final.

Southend batted first and were soon in trouble, losing both openers cheaply. The Big Shots bowlers were bowling a good line and length causing the batsmen to struggle for runs. John Mouat was the pick of the bowlers, taking three wickets for 17 runs. Southend could only muster 42 runs from nine overs.
