In the quarter finals Sean Watt beat George Fraser 6-4, Stephen Dobson won 6-4 against Davie Sandison, Adam Swift had a triumphant 6-1 win over Colin Irvine and 6-1 was also the result between Kenny Henry and Martin Ramsay, taking Kenny through.
In the semis between Sean and Stephen, Stephen promptly took the first four frames with confidence but Sean dug in and won the next two. It went on to finish 6-3 to Stephen.

Missing matches – division two: Re-Racks v Lancers; Lancers v South Kirk Close; Sumburgh Hotel v Re-Racks; Sumburgh Hotel v LBC; Marlex Rovers v Re-Racks.
Division three: Jolly Rogers v Warriors; Me Balls Winna Drop v Untouchables.
All missing matches must be played before 25th May as the results from them are crucial to the final tables in division one and two.

The doubles got under way first and Shetland soon showed their opponents a clean pair of heels. Click here for full story...The “Watt & Duncan 08” Winter Pool League was won this week by Amanda Cutt. In a competition that was said to be “anybody’s game” right until the final matches, Amanda came out tops to win the annual shield and £50 prize cheque.
Victory in this competition puts Amanda through to represent Shetland in the International Blackball Association games to be held in either Manchester or Rosyth in October this year.

Click here for full story...Shetland staged a memorable comeback to win the 25th men’s pool inter-county match, played at the Commodore Hotel in Orkney.
Thirteen players represented each team and the format was three sets of 13 singles matches, each match consisting of two games. Every game counted as one point so there were 78 points up for grabs.
In the first set Shetland started well, leading 4-2 and then 8-6. But Orkney fought back and ended up 14-12 ahead after the first set. Shetland’s James Ramsay, Steve Duncan, Davie Sandison and Adam Swift took the maximum two points from their matches.

Eight men’s teams and six women’s teams vied against each other for the right to call themselves Champions of the Smaller Isles.
The two Shetland men’s teams lost out in the semi-finals, finishing third and fourth. The Isle of Man A team won for the second year in a row.

The last eight players were Kenneth Henry who lost 1-5 to Brian Thompson; Sandy Henry who beat John Magnus Jeromson 5-3; George Fraser who lost 3-5 against Stephen Cutt; and Ryan Duncan who lost 3-5 to son Steve Duncan.
Brian Thompson went on to defeat Sandy Henry 5-1 and Steve Duncan beat Stephen Cutt by the same score.
