The new rugby season gets under way on Saturday when Shetland Rugby Club take on Huntly at Clickimin, kick-off at noon.

The BP Sullom Voe Shetland Rugby Midsummer Sevens tournament ets under way at 7pm on Friday with the traditional family touch rugby matches.

On Saturday afternoon Shetland RFC had a tremendous victory over the Aberdeen Wanderers.

A stirring second-half comeback was not enough for the Shetland rugby team, as they succumbed to another Scottish Hydro Electric North East Division Two defeat, this time at the hands of Deeside, on a cold, wet day at Clickimin on Saturday.

After last week’s triumph over West Dyce, a young Shetland team travelled to Aberdeen to play the Wanderers.

Despite having the better of a scrappy first half on a wet and windy day at Clickimin, the away side were put to the sword by a rampant Shetland team in the second half, who came away with another bonus point victory.
