Orkney still too strong for Shetland in squash inter-county

Orkney continue to dominate inter-county squash. Shetland tried hard to deny Orkney their 17th senior inter-county in the last 21 years. However a full strength Orkney team were just too strong as they won seven matches to two.

The Bulter & Mulhern Shetland squash under-19, under-17 and under-15 championships were held last weekend.

Youngsters compete in festive squash events

TWO junior squash competitions were held over the festive period.

In the under-13 Christmas handicap competition Stuart Cop­land came out the winner, scoring 202 points in total. Stuart and Josie Wishart had the closest games of the tournament with only one point difference between them in their match with the final score 44-43.

Scots nod for Jamie

SHETLAND squash player Jamie Macaulay has been chosen in the team to represent Scotland at the forthcoming World Doubles Championships in Chennai, India, from 15th to 19th December.

Macaulay is joined by players from Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Inver­ness, Irvine and Montrose. He will be playing in the men’s doubles with Stuart Crawford from Irvine.

Sunday coaching for squash followers

SCOTTISH Squash is running a coaching workshop at Clickimin on Sunday, following on from a coaching Level 1 certificate course the previous day.
