With the Premier League teams on a break leading up to the inter-county game on Saturday, the focus turned to the Shetland Chiropractic Reserve League title race.

With the G&S Flooring Premier League on a hiatus due to island games duty, the senior football focus has shifted to the Shetland Chiropractic Reserve League and the league’s Knockout Cup.

The second senior cup final of the season, for the Manson Cup, will be contested between Delting and Whitedale, who knocked out town sides Spurs and Celtic respectively.

Delting suffered their second league defeat of the season when they went down to Celtic on Monday at Gilbertson Park, with Whalsay now two points behind with a game in hand.

Yell had a mixed week in senior football circles, although they lost both matches. On Friday the islanders ran Delting very close in the Manson Cup preliminary round, eventually losing 3-1, but on Monday they were thumped 6-0 by Thistle in the G&S Flooring Premier League. Delting bounced back from defeat in Unst by defeating Whitedale in the league, while there was also a victory for the much-improved Ness United at Scalloway.
