Quiet week for fishmarkets

IT has been a quiet week at Lerwick fishmarket with many boats tied up for summer repairs and taking the opportunity to do painting and other maintenance. No fish at all were landed on Wednesday.

Last week several Whalsay boats were tied up because of the Whalsay regatta, but were working again by the middle of the week.

Whitefish prices this week: cats £1.60-£1.62; cod £1.95-£3.54; haddock £0.80-£2.70; hake £1.00-£1.03; John Dory £7.35-£8.35; lemons £1.18-£5.58; ling £1.26-£1.74; lythe £2.66-£3.05; megrim £0.50-£3.33; monk £2.22- £3.37; plaice £0.48-£2.21; prawns £2.05; saithe £0.35-£0.75; skate £0.77-£1.23; squid £2.56-£3.32; turbot £5.20-£13.13; tusk £0.64-£1.00; whiting £0.50-£2.10; witches £0.40- £0.50.
