, by , in News

THE TOTAL raised towards the CLAN appeal now stands at £30,533, with many events held this week boosting the coffers.

The Lerwick branch of the Royal British Legion contributed £2,500 from various fundraising events.

A sum of £570 was donated by the Ness Boating Club, which held a quiz night in memory of the late Jean Flaws.

Sandwich lunches run by Shetland Aquaculture and Shetland Seafood at the Seafood Centre netted £999, and the CLAN shop in the Toll Clock Shopping Centre brought in £1,259.

There have been many more private donations in the past week, and snowball teas have been going well.

Raffle tickets are now on sale, with the main prize being a Toyota Yaris sponsored by Jim’s Garage. The car will be on show outside Harry’s shop tomorrow.
