Baby death father back in court

THE FATHER of a baby girl killed in a house fire in Brae last month reappeared in private at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

Billy Middleton, 32, faced one charged of murder and two charges of attempted murder last week and made no plea or declaration when he appeared again this week. Middleton was judicially examined, fully committed for trial and remanded in custody.

Eight-month-old Annalise Middleton died in the family home at Burgadale on Saturday 20th September. Mr Middleton’s six year old daughter and four year old son suffered the effects of smoke from the fire, but their mother Kareen was unhurt.

No date has been set for Mr Middleton’s trial.
