Good prices
FISH prices have remained strong at the markets for monkfish and megrims during the last week.
Prices for haddock and whiting have struggled in comparison, however, thanks to heavy landings in Peterhead. A spokesman for fish agents LHD said prices were expected to rise as demand overtook supply while boats sheltered from the weather.
Whitefish prices: cod £1.34-£2.73; haddock £0.27-£2.01; hake £1.00- £2.29; John Dory £5.92-£8.37; lemon sole £1.96-£5.53; ling £1.30-£1.71; lythe £2.60-£3.25; megrims £1.25- £5.90; monkfish £2.30-£4.13; plaice £0.35-£1.83; saithe £0.36-£1.10; skate £0.53-£1.23; squid £2.00-£3.46; turbot £4.10-£11.55; tusk £0.96-£1.20; whiting £0.23-£2.13; witches £1.14-£1.75; dogfish £0.40-£1.10; eels £0.47-£0.60; gurnards £0.20-£0.60.
