Board to chart Mareel project
FOLLOWING complaints by some councillors that they were being kept in the dark over progress on the Mareel project, a sounding board has been created for the duration of the project’s construction.
The board, comprising elected members and council officials, has already met twice in December and will report to next month’s meeting of the development committee and February’s services committee, and every council cycle thereafter.
Those sitting on the board are councillors Josie Simpson, Alastair Cooper and Frank Robertson, along with SIC head of economic development Neil Grant, Mike Finnie from the capital programme service and executive services director Hazel Sutherland.
