Netball team begins year in fine style

The Anderson High School netball team began their defence of the Scottish Schools Open A cup with an impressive victory in Aberdeenshire.

In the first round group stage last week the AHS defeated Meldrum Academy 89-3.

The girls are now back home and training hard for the second group stage of the competition which will be drawn on 28th January. Their coaches are confident the girls will progress well in the competition this year and hopefully challenge to retain the title.

A spokeswoman said: “Well played to all who took part at Meldrum Academy and good luck for the next stage of the competition from everyone at AHS.”
