Man to stand trial on housebreaking charge

A man accused of breaking into a Lerwick house last year will stand trial at the town’s sheriff court later this month.

Barry Dutton, 24, of Bank Lane denies entering the house at Scalloway Road on 27th August before stealing a games console along with a number of games.

He also pleaded not guilty to failing to appear in court on 25th February when he stood in the dock before honorary Sheriff Roger Macdonald on Monday.

Trial for both charges was set for 26th March and he was released on bail.
