The Power is coming

Darts champion Phil “The Power” Taylor is coming to Burra in May.

The 14-times world title holder will play an exhibition match at the Hamnavoe Hall, accompanied by rising star Gary “The Flying Scotsman” Anderson. Each of them will take on eight local players and then play a head-to-head match over the best of 13 legs.

The locals will comprise Shetland singles champion Angus Galbraith, doubles champions Neale Redfern and Jim Wood, four Burra men, one woman and eight others still to be decided.

The event has been organised by Burra man Gideon Ward, in conjuction with the local hall committee and Shetland Darts Association.

Tickets for the action, which begins at 7pm on Saturday 16th May, cost £25 and are available from Clive’s Record Shop in Lerwick, Halcrow’s Shop in Hamnavoe and Tetley & Anderson in Whalsay.
