Tallack’s CD launch goes down a storm

There was a good turnout at the Royal British Legion on Friday at the launch gig for Malachy Tallack’s new album, From the Thorn.

To open the concert, Malachy played a set of solo acoustic songs, which although sombre in mood were warmly appreciated.

As well as Malachy and the band, which features his brother Rory Tallack on fiddle and vocals, Astryd Jamieson on piano and vocals, Steven Laurenson on guitar and vocals, Graham Malcolmson on bass and Paul Mullay on drums, the line up included the Donald Anderson band.

They played a set of rocky self penned tracks which had the crowd dancing and went down a storm.

The album, which is Malachy’s third, has already received positive reviews and many in the crowd were eager to pick up a copy on the night.

From the Thorn is available at High Level Music, Clives Record Shop and the band’s website, www.malachytallack.com.
