A song for Murray

Rock, Salt and Nails’ Paul Johnston has released a tribute song to Scottish tennis star Andy Murray ahead of next week’s Wimbledon tournament.

The tribute, entitled Volley Highway, is being released on Itunes and is currently available to view on YouTube.

Intriguingly described as “a cross between Runrig – and the Irn-Bru advert”, the tribute had racked up just over 1,000 hits on the online video site by Wednesday.

Mr Johnston said he hopes the song will encourage supporters of Murray by reminding people he is Scottish. He said: “We did it because we think he sometimes suffers from being seen as British.

“Murray’s Scottish and too often Scots go down south and lose their Scottish identity. It’s meant to be fun – we’re not claiming it’s Rabbie Burns.”
