Central Garage in Brae put on the market

One of Shetland’s most established car dealers is on the market after 30 years of business. The sale of Central Garage in Brae is being handled by Lerwick estate agents Dowle, Smith and Rutherford.

The Citroën garage, run by company director and secretary John Robertson, has been in existence since 1979, although Mr Robertson operated from a workshop in the North Mainland several years before then.

Schedules of sale have been sent to other garages in the hope of finding a buyer who can keep the business running. Mr Robertson refused to comment on the sale of the business when contacted by The Shetland Times.
