Police deal with weekend incidents including vehicle collision and breaches of the peace

Lerwick police dealt with a number of incidents over the weekend, including a two-vehicle collision at the B9074 Tingwall valley road near Scalloway at about 6.30am on Saturday.

The female driver of one of the vehicles was taken the Gilbert Bain Hospital for treatment to minor injuries while the male driver of the second vehicle did not require medical treatment. Police said their inquiries were ongoing into the incident.

The previous evening an 18-year-old man was arrested for breaching his bail conditions at around 9pm. Police said a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

At about 11.30pm on Saturday two men were arrested for fighting outside a pub in the centre of Lerwick. Again a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
