A man appeared in private at Lerwick Sheriff Court today charged with carrying out a serious assault.
Thomas Bain, 29, of the town’s Hangcliff Lane, appeared from custody on a petition alleging an assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement and permanent impairment.
He made no plea or declaration, was committed for further examination and released on bail.
The town centre was a hive of activity this afternoon with Living Lerwick’s street parade the centre of attraction.
