Shetland Country Music Club starts its programme later this month with a visit by the Thomas Maguire and Fhiona Ennis Band from Ireland.

Thomas and Fhiona have been singing for a number of years but only teamed up in 2005. Fhiona hails from Ballmum in County Wexford while Thomas is from Irvinestown in County Fermanagh.

Both artistes have been inspired by and shared shows with many well-known Irish and American greats. Together with their five-piece band they are said to produce a fine selection of music and the organisers hope as many as possible will go along to hear them perform live.

The band appears at the Garrison Theatre on Thursday 23rd September with tickets, priced at £10, available now from Shetland Box Office on (01595) 745555.

They travel to Whalsay Boating Club on the Friday night, where people can pay at the door, and complete their visit at the Lerwick British Legion on Saturday 25th September. Tickets to the Legion gig are available either from the box office or at the door.

Spokesman Brian Robertson said: “The club has a full programme lined up for the latter part of 2010 and we would be delighted if you could make the time to get along to some of the music on offer.”
