Ferry service to operate again as winds ease

Normal service should resume on NorthLink ferries today as the Hrossey is scheduled to depart Aberdeen for Lerwick at 7pm.

The arrival tomorrow will be the first to the isles since Sunday morning following several days of gales.

There will be no southbound sailing as Hjaltland is currently undergoing annual maintenance work in Lerwick.

Freight vessel Hildasay is scheduled to depart Lerwick for Aberdeen at 8pm tonight.

Tonight’s sailing of NorthLink’s freight vessel Helliar from Aberdeen to Kirkwall and Lerwick, due to have left at 4pm, has been cancelled. Tomorrow’s sailing from Lerwick to Aberdeen, scheduled to depart at 6pm, has been delayed until 11pm.

Normal service will resume on Thursday.
