Lerwick woman freed on bail following seizure of heroin worth £12,000

A Lerwick woman was released on bail from Lerwick Sheriff Court today after appearing in private in connection with the previous day’s seizure of heroin worth around £12,000.

Nicole Hassan, 20, of Grostane, Lerwick, made no plea or declaration and was committed for further examination.

The heroin was recovered during a police raid on a house in the town. It was the second large haul of the drug in Shetland in five days.
