Police appeal for information after arresting pair in connection with scrap metal theft

Police have issued an urgent appeal for information after two men were detained on Sunday on suspicion of theft of scrap metal and batteries.

The men were apprehended when they were spotted driving a blue Ford Transit van on Holmsgarth Road at around 6.15pm. A report is to be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Police are asking for anyone who has had dealings with two men in a blue Transit over the weekend urgently to get in touch with them.

They are also asking that people who have had these individuals on their land to re-check that no metal or car batteries have been taken from their property over the weekend.
