Lerwick man allegedly had heroin at Tall Ships

A regular offender has been remanded in custody until later this week after allegedly having heroin while on bail. Iain Tulloch, 41, of Hoofields in Lerwick, is charged with having the Class A drug at Laurenson Quay on Saturday.

Tulloch appeared from custody at Lerwick Sheriff Court today. His case was continued without plea until Thursday. Procurator fiscal Duncan MacKenzie opposed bail, citing Tulloch’s previous convictions.

Defence agent Chris Dowle argued Tulloch had obtained a job as a joiner, which would keep him in steady work until February next year. However, sheriff Graeme Napier denied him his liberty. Tulloch will appear in court again on Wednesday.
