The 2010 X Factor winner Matt Cardle is to play a gig in Shetland next month to mark the release of his debut single and album.

He will play at the Clickimin Centre on Saturday 24th September as one of three small shows, the others being in Orkney and Inverness.

The single, Run For Your Life will go on sale on 9th October and the album, Letters, on 17th October.

Since winning X Factor, he has spent four months writing and recording the tracks.

He said: “After months of being in the studio I can’t wait to get out and play some of the tracks live before the album comes out. I also thought it would be fun to play these small shows somewhere a little bit off the beaten track.”

Tickets for the Shetland gig go on sale on Saturday at 9am from High Level Music, Lerwick, or online at www.beyondit.net – www.ticketmaster.co.uk or www.seetickets.com. All tickets are priced £20. Under-14s must be accompanied by an adult. Ticket purchases are limited to four per person.
