Well over 2,000 people enjoyed concerts at Clickimin on Saturday and Sunday evenings by Matt Cardle.

The musician, a winner of television’s X-Factor programme, had originally planned just one gig but demand was so high that a second night was laid on at short notice.

By all accounts the shows were well received by those who attended, a mix of all ages and family members.

Cardle was also mobbed while taking a walk along Commercial Street in Lerwick by a horde of youngsters, many of whom were delighted to get his autograph.

See The Shetland Times on Friday for concert review.
