New finance chief for NHS Shetland

NHS Shetland has appointed Colin Marsland to the post of director of finance.  

Mr Marsland, who is anticipating taking up the post at the beginning of March, has previously worked as a Scottish NHS finance trainee and in health services in Forth Valley, Grampian and Fife before most recently working in a primary care trust in Yorkshire.

NHS Shetland chief executive Ralph Roberts said: “I am delighted that Colin is coming to join us in Shetland. He brings a range of experience to the board and will, I am sure, play an important role as we continue to provide quality services to the local population.”

Mr Marsland said: “I am delighted to have been offered this opportunity with NHS Shetland. I look forward to moving up to Shetland and working with all the staff and our partner organisations to ensure the continued delivery of the best possible quality healthcare sevices for the people of Shetland.”

In the interim the post of director of finance is being covered part-time by Robert Kemp.
