Man kept behind bars after he denies carrying knife

A man has been remanded in custody after being caught allegedly carrying a knife.

Kieran Roberts, 25, of Sandside in Mossbank, is charged with having the blade at South Lochside on Friday.

He pleaded not guilty to the offence when he appeared from custody on today. The Crown opposed bail.

An intermediate diet was fixed for 11th July, with a trial set down for 26th July.

Honorary Sheriff Arnold Duncan told Mr Roberts: “Having taken into account all the matters placed in front of me today I’m going to refuse bail.”
