Threatening and abusive behaviour lands Bressay man in court

A man who acted in a threatening and abusive manner towards his former partner appeared from custody at Lerwick Sheriff Court yesterday.

Ryan Paterson, 22, of Glebe Park, Bressay, pleaded guilty to the domestic offence, which happened at Gremmasgaet, Lerwick, on Sunday.

Defence solicitor Tommy Allan said Paterson was upset about not being able to gain access to his young child, but had now been told to get legal advice about the matter.

Sheriff Philip Mann said Paterson had gone about making contact in the wrong way, but accepted this was out of the ordinary and deferred sentence for three months for Paterson to be of good behaviour.
