Campaigner Hill to spend 12 days in jail over court breach

Self-styled independence campaigner Stuart Hill is to be kept behind bars for almost a fortnight following his latest appearance at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Friday.

A warrant was issued for Mr Hill’s arrest on Thursday after he failed to turn up for a court appearance relating to a breach of a community payback order imposed for driving offences in December.

Appearing before the sheriff on Friday afternoon after police managed to track him down, Cunningsburgh resident Mr Hill, 69, had his case adjourned until 25th July for reports and he was remanded in custody.
