Fire fighters from Scalloway, Lerwick and Sandwick were called to Hamnavoe at about 6.15am and spent several hours bringing the blaze under control.

Crews were there until the mid-afternoon damping down and the photograph clearly shows the extent of the damage.

It is thought the blaze started in an out building and the householders managed to get out before the fire took hold. No casualties have been reported.
