Bonnet is handy for Andy

Former member of the Up-Helly-Aa committee, now a Shetland exile in Australia and guest in this year’s Jarl’s Squad, Andy Angus is the proud owner of two festival-design toories.

Andy won the auction held at the Jarl’s Squad dinner dance with the highest bid and paid £150 for the pair.

The money will go towards the squad’s charities which are the RNLI and the ASN unit at Bell’s Brae School. With Andy is Kim Coutts (right) who knitted the toories while her niece Ingrid Sharp (left) models the second hat.

Kim originally knitted just a few toories for friends and family in the Jarl’s Squad but felt it would be a nice gesture to help the squad charities and made two extra for auction.
