The woman killed in yesterday’s serious crash at Cunningsburgh has been named by police as 68-year-old Margaret Sinclair – known locally as Pearl – from Levenwick.

The two-vehicle collision involving a lorry and a car occurred shortly after 3.30pm yesterday on the stretch of road known as the “cliffs of Cunningsburgh”.

Specialist crash scene investigators have been sent by Police Scotland’s Highlands and Islands division to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
