Events at the Thule Bar in Lerwick took an unexpected twist last night after a CO2 cylinder began to vent its contents.
Revellers were evacuated from the pub and the fire service was called after the incident happened shortly before 9pm.
Crews from Lerwick used breathing apparatus sets and gas detectors. The cylinder was removed and taken away for inspection.
The premises were made safe within three quarters of an hour.
The town centre was a hive of activity this afternoon with Living Lerwick’s street parade the centre of attraction.
