Impressive reporting (Douglas Young)

You reported on the Yes Shetland meeting to launch the positive campaign on Independence in Islesburgh last Thursday.

The report was an accurate record of events of what was said and the general feeling of both the panel and audience.

For this reason your article appeared on the Yes Scotland page and had over 400 likes and shared over 60 times within 24 hours.

And the reason is simple. It is near impossible for any “yes” meeting or interview to get a fair press from any national newspaper in Scotland. You neither denigrated nor spun the events in Lerwick.

For that, many of us are truly grateful, as the debate can only continue for both “yes” and “no” if the press maintain a standard you have set.
