Metal festival returns

Britain’s most northerly metal festival returns to the isles this summer – with two days of roaring rock at the Lerwick Royal British Legion.

Shetland-based media group Heavy Metal Buffet will be hosting The Buffet 2014 on Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd August.

Metal scene favourites Ten Tonne Dozer have been announced as one of the bands to perform – after pulling in one of the largest crowds at last year’s festival.

Also on the bill are Witch Charmer, an English band who describe themselves as “a hard rockin’ groove-laden, doom soaked audio assault voicing tales of disdain and suffering about this world gone mad.”

Marjolein Robertson of Heavy Metal Buffet expressed her excitement for the upcoming festival: “We were completely overwhelmed by the success of The Buffet 2013,” she said.

“The performances were mind-blowing and the audiences were in great spirits. We can’t wait to do it all again, especially with the line-up we have in store for you this year.”

More bands will announced in the lead up to the festival and as part of the festival’s launch, a limited run of early-bird tickets are available.
