Adverse weather causes ferry cancellations

Severe weather has meant ferry services between Lerwick and Aberdeen have been cancelled this weekend.

The Hjaltland was scheduled to depart Aberdeen, sailing for Kirkwall and Lerwick at 5pm today. But due to adverse weather, sailing has been cancelled.

Tomorrow’s 5pm sailing has also been ruled out.

The Hrossey was due to leave Lerwick at 7pm this evening but sailing has been cancelled, as has tomorrow’s sailing at 7pm.

Serco NorthLink said the freight vessel Hildasay is berthed in Aberdeen. She was due to depart for Lerwick at 6pm but will not be sailing.
