Car crash blocks Lerwick road

Holmsgarth Road was closed for about half an hour this morning after two vehicles were badly damaged in a collision.

Police said no-one was injured in the crash which happened at 7.54am, but the vehicles were blocking the road between the Station garage and Shetland Hotel, causing a considerable tailback. Both had to be lifted from the carriageway.

Two cars went off the road on Sunday morning, again no-one was injured. One vehicle went through a fence beside the A968 near Voe. Another car went into a ditch on the A970 near Gulberwick.
