Weather disrupts ferry sailings again

Strong winds have forced NorthLink to think again about its scheduled sailings tonight, with south-bound passengers facing a 14 hour delay before even setting sail.

The Hrossey was due to leave Lerwick for Aberdeen at 7pm. But due to the forecast the ferry will now only leave Holmsgarth at 10am tomorrow. An estimated time of arrival in the Granite City has been put at 9pm tomorrow.

NorthLink say passenger and vehicle access will open at 8.30am, with final check-in at 9.30am.

The delay will have a knock-on effect on tomorrow’s northbound sailing, which is now not due to leave Aberdeen until 11pm tomorrow. That should see the Hrossey arrive in Lerwick at 10am on Wednesday.
