A new accommodation vessel the Sea Discoverer has arrived in Lerwick today.

The 14-year-old,  87-metre vessel, which has about 100 passenger cabins, is berthed at Holmsgarth, arriving from Emden, Germany.

She has been chartered by Petrofac for workers on the construction of the Shetland Gas Plant. The charter is for the maximum of two months. Sea Discoverer. Photo: Valerie Thompson.

Lerwick Port Authority says she will have to move from the berth when required.

Meanwhile the passenger vessel SNAV Toscana which arrived in March tho house hundreds of gas plant workers, is due to leave on Tuesday to return to the Mediterranean for her next charter.
