Two arrested in drugs raids

Two men in their twenties have been arrested in relation to large drug seizures.

A 29-year-old man has been arrested following the discovery of suspected cocaine and cannabis with a potential street value of £35,000.

The seizure is a result of a joint operation between Police Scotland and Dogs Against Drugs.

Police also say a 26-year-old man was arrested after he was stopped by police officers and found in possession of suspected heroin with a potential street value of £4,300.

Both men remain in police custody and reports have been sent to the procurator fiscal.

Chief Inspector Lindsay Tulloch said: “We will continue to work with Dogs Against Drugs in our effort to stop controlled drugs reaching Shetland and stop organised criminals from making money by selling drugs in Shetland. Individuals who sell drugs are living in our community and I would appeal to the public to support us and report anyone they suspect is involved in selling illegal drugs.”
