Aith lifeboat tows in broken-down pleasure craft

The Aith lifeboat  crew came to the assistance of the pleasure craft The Otter yesterday after she broke down and was drifting out to sea.

The small boat, with one person on board, experienced a dead battery while off the isle of Vementry on the West Side of Shetland.

While the seas were calm and there was no immediate danger, just after 5pm Shetland Coastguard requested the assistance of the Aith RNLI service.

The lifeboat towed the boat to Voe and was back at the Aith pier ready for service again by 7.05pm.
