Coastguard call outs

The coastguard helicopter was called out this afternoon to search for a missing man in Fetlar.

Shetland Coastguard received the call at about 2.20pm and said the man had got lost in the fog, but managed to get to down to Tresta beach and was safe and well.

Yesterday at about 3pm the helicopter was called to diving support vessel Bibby Sapphire, 70 miles west of Shetland, to evacuate an ill crewman.

The helicopter arrived in Sumburgh at about 5.30pm and the crewman was taken to Gilbert Bain Hospital by ambulance.
