Pair granted bail

Two men charged with threatening and abusive behaviour appeared together from custody at Lerwick Sheriff Court today and had their cases continued.
Kieran Roberts, 28, of Haldane Burgess Crescent, Lerwick, and Geordan Sales, 21, of Kalliness, Weisdale, were charged with making threats, shouting and swearing, smashing a window and damaging a patio while trying to gain entry to a house in Lerwick’s Hill Grind on Sunday.

In addition Roberts was charged with having an offensive weapon, namely a hammer, in his possession.

The pair were released on bail, with two special conditions – that they stay away from the address in Hill Grind and do not attempt to contact or approach the complainer, either directly or indirectly. Sheriff Philip Mann said this included social media such as Facebook.

Roberts and Sales had their cases continued without plea and will appear again in court on 30th September.
