Rallying call for Scalloway Public Hall

A rallying call is being made for more volunteers to help prevent Scalloway’s public hall from closure.
The hall committee has had what was described as an “extremely poor” turnout at its annual general meeting.

It has arranged an emergency general meeting for next month, and is urging anyone who wishes to see the hall remain open to attend.

“Due to an extremely poor turnout at our Annual General Meeting it is necessary to have an EGM on Thursday 12th May, 730pm at the hall,” a post on the hall’s Facebook page read this afternoon.

“Anyone who does not want to see it close, Please come along to the meeting.”
