Sudden death investigated by police

A man died suddenly in Cunningsburgh at the weekend, police have confirmed.

Officers were called to an address in Cunningsburgh at 10.20pm on Saturday. The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing. A post mortem will be carried out.

A house in St Magnus Street, Lerwick, has been cordoned off with police tape. Locals there said officers had been ever present since the house was taped off three days ago.

The man has been named locally as David McKinnon. A report is being submitted to the procurator fiscal.
