Police are seeking witnesses to an incident of dangerous driving on Friday outside of Lerwick.

The incident happened at about 5.30pm on the A970 heading north out of the town.

A silver BMW sports car crossed the double white lines driving onto the southbound carriageway to overtake two vehicles which were side by side.

It caused two southbound vehicles to take evasive action to avoid a crash.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police on 101.
