Do you have an image which could grace calendar cover?

, by , in Features, News

If you have a spectacular image which you would like to share with the isles then perhaps you should enter The Shetland Times Calendar Competition.

Every year a glossy calendar showcasing a stunning local image is included free with this newspaper over the festive period.

To be in with a shot of having your photograph grace the walls of homes and workplaces around Shetland simply send your image into the paper for consideration.

All images must be taken in Shetland and should be in landscape orientation rather than portrait. Beyond this the type of image you choose to send is up to you.

It could be a shot which captures the breathtaking scenery of the isles or a picture of some of the fascinating wildlife which visits or lives here.

Images which tell a story are also welcome, perhaps showcasing local industries such as fishing or crofting or a photograph which alludes to Shetland’s history.

A shortlist of 12 entries will be selected by staff in The Shetland Times newsroom, after which readers will be able to vote for their favourite at www.shetlandtimes.co.uk.

To enter simply send your photograph in high resolution to editorial@shetlandtimes.co.uk with “Calendar Competition” as the subject title. Photos can also be posted to the paper via social media – www.facebook.com/shetland.times.

• The deadline for entries is 5pm on Tuesday, 18th October.
