Whalsay ferries cancelled for fisherman’s funeral

There will be disruption to the Whalsay ferry service tomorrow as sailings from Symbister and Laxo are cancelled for the funeral of fisherman David Anderson in the isle.

According to the SIC, the 11.15am and 12pm ferries from Symbister and the 12pm and 12.45pm ferries from Laxo will be cancelled. The 12.45pm sailing from Symbister may be delayed.

The funeral takes place at 12pm.

Normal service on the route between Laxo and Symbister will resume at 14am.
