Shetland museum window smashed for donations theft

Police are investigating the theft of a donation barrel from Shetland Museum, which had a large hole smashed in one of its front windows overnight.

Police received a report of the incident at 8.30am. Part of the barrel, used to collect donations for the museum which has no entry fee, was apparently floating in Hays Dock and a piece of ballast was lying on the window ledge of the museum.
